University of Otago delivers a doctoral program, named Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) cooperating with Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
与传统博士项目相比，工商管理博士项目更注重将理论研究与学员工作中的管理实践相结合。使学员在其专业领域的管理知识得到系统的升华，并增强学生研究和思考的能力。
Compared with PhD degree, DBA program focuses on the combination of research skills and management practice. It improves students’ business knowledge and enhances their capability of research and thinking.

The aim of the program is to ensure that knowledge is developed for public good and/or economic benefit as a direct outcome. The degree is structured to allow candidates to continue working and to focus on specific business problems within their own workplace as part of their degree. The DBA has been developed to address the needs of industry and employers for graduates with industry experience, problem solving and data analysis skills, and the ability to undertake applied research.
